Chris Collins is the latest in a long line of coaches who are going to finally get Northwestern basketball over the hump and to the NCAA tournament. Will he do it? I have no idea, I really don’t. All I know is that were I a parent of a high school basketball player in the Chicago area that was being recruited by Northwestern and Collins, I would not allow him to go to Evanston.
Not because I’m an Illinois guy, but because Chris Collins is not to be trusted.
Collins did an interview with Luke Stuckmeyer of CSNChicago, and he was asked a myriad of questions. For the most part Collins gave the same boring answers any of us would give, but then Stuckmeyer asked one of his final questions.
Stuckmeyer asked Collins what he would get from Mustard’s Last Stand, a hot dog joint in Evanston. This is what Collins said.
“I’m pretty basic, just a regular hot dog,” Collins said. “Maybe ketchup, a little mustard. I’m not huge on the toppings.”
Should Collins be fired? Obviously, but we’ll just have to see if Northwestern has the balls to do what’s right.
