Unlike most of you who watched the US beat Ghana last night, I didn’t get to watch it live. No, between pilates and a weekly training class for the puppy on Monday nights, I wasn’t home until 9pm.
But you know what? Watching it on the DVR (after avoiding spoilers rather easily in case you’re under the impression that soccer is suddenly super popular in this country) hours after it happened was just as awesome, and John Brooks’ goal at the 86-minute mark to give the US the lead back was just as unexpected.
And to think, the poor bastard has been linked to Aston Villa.
