Minnesota Continues To Negotiate Trade For Kevin Love Through The Media

loverumors

On Tuesday rumors surfaced that the Bulls were still very much involved in the Kevin Love Trade Sweepstakes. Though most of the focus on Love the last few weeks has been about the Timberwolves and Cavs discussing a deal that would involve Andrew Wiggins, the top pick in last month’s draft, it wasn’t that surprising to find out that the Bulls would still have interest in love.

After all, getting Love from the Wolves would not only improve the Bulls roster, but it’d keep the Cavs — a division rival that just got LeBron James back — from getting him as well. It’s just there was one small problem with the Tuesday’s rumor.

By most accounts, it was Minnesota leaking the Bulls supposed interest.

The Mailbag: Who’s Winning The Next Title Around Here?

victorycelebration

Welcome to The Chicago Homer’s Mailbag. It runs once a week unless it doesn’t, and in it I answer questions from readers via Twitter or email. The questions can be about any damn thing you please, and there likely isn’t a question I won’t answer. There may be questions I can’t answer, but I’ll try.

If you’d like to submit a question for the next edition of the mailbag it’s pretty simple. Either ask the question on Twitter using the #AskTCH hashtag — as long as you use the hashtag I will see it — or send an email to TCHMailbag@gmail.com.

Some Helpful English Phrases For Nikola Mirotic

Screen Shot 2014-07-18 at 11.48.41 AM

During his introductory press conference with the Chicago Bulls, Nikola Mirotic confessed that his “English is not so good.” Which is understandable, as he was born in Montenegro and has spent his entire professional career in Spain.

So he does speak Spanish, and seeing that I have a passable knowledge of the Spanish language, I thought I could help Nikola make the transition to English.

A Eulogy For Carlos Boozer

Chicago Bulls v Miami Heat

I come here tonight to say goodbye. The Bulls announced Tuesday night that they would be using the amnesty provision on Carlos Boozer, just like we all figured they would. For some the news was a moment of celebration.

I am not shedding tears over it, either, but you know what? While saying goodbye to Boozer is absolutely the right move for the Bulls, I want to make one thing clear.

Carlos Boozer didn’t suck.

VIDEO: Doug McDermott Goes Off For 31 Points

dough

Obviously anything that happens in the NBA Summer League will surely carry over to the regular season, so Bulls fans should expect rookie Doug McDermott to score at least 30 points per game this year. He’ll also shoot 56% from three all season too.

Tony Snell pouring in another 23 points as well means that the Bulls are winning the NBA title next year, you guys.

Nikola Mirotic Is Officially Joining The Bulls

Details aren’t known yet, but I’d say this makes it pretty clear that Nikola Mirotic is officially joining the Bulls next season. It’ll be nice to finally see him play after hearing so many good things about him the last few years.

Here’s hoping he’s the next Dirk Nowitzki.

Pau Gasol Inches Ever Closer To Becoming A Bull

It’s looking more and more likely that Pau Gasol will soon be a member of the Chicago Bulls. I’m still trying to figure out whether this means the Bulls know what Carmelo Anthony plans to do, or if they’re just doing this anyway.

It also remains to be seen how Gasol will be joining the Bulls. If it’s a sign-and-trade there were reports Friday night that the Lakers weren’t interested in Carlos Boozer, so it’s possible that Mike Dunleavy is on his way to Los Angeles. If that’s the case, a sign-and-trade for Carmelo seems a lot less likely.

Oh God Here We Go

NBA: Toronto Raptors at Miami Heat

There are a lot of things speculated about the Bulls summer that I haven’t exactly been a big fan of. I don’t like the idea of Pau Gasol if they miss out on Carmelo Anthony. Hell, I’m not even that big of a fan of the idea of Carmelo Anthony. I also live in constant fear of Kirk Hinrich coming back.

But these are all things I could live with were they to happen. I wouldn’t be happy, but it’s just sports, man. It isn’t that big of a deal.

There’s really only one thing the Bulls could do this summer that would cause me to lose my mind, but it’s a good thing there’s no chance of that happ…oh? What’s that?
