Be it via free agency, or a trade, the “Bulls interested in Pau Gasol” stories always seem to rise from he ashes like a phoenix that keeps killing itself just to come back again.

The NBA Draft is on Thursday night, and as things currently stand, the Bulls have two picks: No. 16 and No. 19. Whether or not they’ll actually be making those picks remains to be seen, as there have been plenty of rumors about how they’re looking to move them to make more room for a Carmelo Anthony or Kevin Love under the salary cap.
Are the Bulls putting a backup plan in place, or do they have something larger planned?
That’s the question I had to ask myself when I saw the latest report from Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski about the Bulls pursuing a trade for Orlando’s Arron Afflalo. For months we’ve heard all about the Bulls and their interest in guys like Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Love, but as any Bulls fan knows when it comes to bringing a top player to Chicago, backup plans are a must. So is that what Afflalo is? Here’s what Wojnarowski wrote.
I don’t know how they became friends, but I bet this all ends with Jimmy Butler starring in a new show based on Entourage, but with an athlete instead of a movie star.

I was going to write this last night, but I felt it would be better to let my thoughts marinate overnight rather than just pulling the trigger. I was somewhat annoyed, after all, and I didn’t want to let any of that cloud my thoughts on the entire season.
But maybe I should have waited an extra day or two?
