Carlos Rodon Could Be In Chicago Next Month

The Road to Rodon could pass through Chicago as early as next month.

Rodon has only pitched nine innings in five games for the White Sox in the minors — in the Arizona League and at Winston Salem — since being drafted in June, but like Chris Sale before him, he could be on the fast track to Chicago. MLB.com’s Scott Merkin writes that there’s a “better than average” chance Rodon could be on the roster come September when they expand.

Sox Lock Up Jose Quintana

MLB: Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees

And my love of White Sox general manager Rick Hahn just continues to grow thanks to an unexpected announcement the team made on Monday morning.

The team has signed Jose Quintana to a five year extension that guarantees him no more than $26.5 million. The deal also has options for $10.5 million in 2019 and $11.5 million in 2020.
