After three days the NFL Draft has finally concluded, and the Bears made eight picks. With them, the Bears hope to fill some obvious needs and ensure a team that finished 8-8 last season has enough talent to make a Super Bowl run.
That’s all well and good, but none of it matters nearly as much as ranking the Bears draft picks against one another. That’s right, the Bears Draft Pick Power Rankings you’ve been demanding are now officially here!
Thursday night the NFL Draft will be held, and as things currently sit, the Chicago Bears will be making the 14th pick. This could all change before the Bears are officially on the clock, though. Maybe the Bears will trade up to grab somebody they covet, or maybe they’ll trade down to get more picks. We don’t know.
What we do know is that if the Bears do make a selection in the first round on Thursday night, no matter who they choose, that player is probably going to suck.
Marc Trestman’s first season with the Bears was about reinventing the offense, and it’s hard to deny the success he had along the way. I’m now wondering if Trestman’s second season at the helm will be about reinventing the Bears defense.
While it’s entirely possible that I’m reading the tea leaves and getting the answer that I want to see, Thursday brought yet another sign that the Bears are considering switching to a 3-4 defense.
